St Joseph’s School Portland is the only small Catholic Primary School at this South-Eastern end of the Bathurst Diocese. The school is situated at the top of Convent Hill in Portland with magnificent views of the surrounding slopes – the students have the advantage of a well equipped playground and vibrant well organised classrooms.

The addition of a modern new Library and Multi-Purpose Hall in 2010 paved the way for innovative Information Communication Technology development within the school.

The mission of St Joseph’s is to provide a quality learning environment which gives witness to the Gospel values of love, respect and justice. Students are encouraged to realise their full potential with individual needs catered for in the curriculum and social environment of the school.

The Student Welfare Program deals with classroom and playground behaviours, bullying and overall attitude and conduct. Achievements involve inclusion in community events (ANZAC March, Catholic Schools Week), Sporting Programs (Perceptual Motor, Water Safety, Athletics), academic competitions and in the Performing Arts (Musicals).
